Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve been caring for our community’s kiddo’s for a long time now, and we often get similar questions from new families. Let’s see if we can answer your question below.

Answer |
How do I schedule a tour at one of your centers? |
|
Who should I talk to about enrollment? |
If you know which center your child will attend, you can call the Director of that center. If you don’t know, any of our center Directors are happy to help you figure it out. You can find our phone numbers on our Contact page. |
Are all of your facilities licensed? |
They sure are! Our facilities and our teachers fulfill all of the qualifications of Rule 3 set forth by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Every one of our centers also has a 4-Star Parent Aware rating, which is the highest rating awarded to childcare providers that demonstrate best practices in Early Childhood Education. |
What ages of children do you care for? |
We offer unique learning experiences for infants beginning at six weeks up to children of eight years. Our programs are developmentally appropriate and based on the MN Early Childhood Indicators of Progress. |
What are your hours? |
All of our centers open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends. |
Is there a fee if I’m late picking up my child? |
Yes, so let’s avoid it. If you arrive after scheduled hours to pick up your child, you will be charged a rate of $5.00 for every 5 minutes that you are late ($5.00 for 1-5 minutes, $10.00 for 6-10 minutes, etc.). |
What days are you closed? |
Our centers are closed for 9 holidays each year (New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day) as well as 2 in-service days. For exact dates, please review our Handbook, which is updated annually. Tuition is required for all holidays and in-service days. |
Do I have to enroll my child full-time, or do you offer part-time care? |
We’re happy to provide families with either full-time (30 hours or more) or part-time (less than 30 hours) childcare and development services. We also offer drop-in care provided space is available. |
What school district are you in? |
All Merry Moose Childcare and Preschool centers are located in the Rocori School District. There are multiple elementary schools available. |
Do you charge a registration fee? |
There is a non-refundable annual registration fee due at the time of enrollment. Please refer to our Handbook for current fees. |
Do you require a deposit? |
A nonrefundable deposit equal to the first and second week of care is required at the time of enrollment. The deposit will be applied to the first week of care and the last week of care that your child is enrolled in our program. |
What does tuition cost? |
Tuition rates increase every January. Please refer to our Handbook for the most current tuition rates. |
How do I make a tuition payment? |
Your deposit and subsequent tuition payments are easily made online using the Brightwheel app. Payments are made on Mondays for the current week of childcare fees. (Fees for late payments, nonsufficient funds, declined auto payments, or a late child pick-up can be found in our Handbook.) |
How do I let you know if my child is sick or will be staying home? |
Parents can easily communicate with us using the Brightwheel app. |
Do you provide meals and snacks? |
We sure do. Once children have transitioned from bottle feedings, we serve nutritious, high-quality meals and snacks. A six-week rotating menu is posted in each center as well as provided in the Welcome Packet upon registration. More information on meals and nutrition can be found in our Handbook. |
What if my child has a special dietary need? |
If your child(ren) has a special dietary need or food allergy, please have your child’s doctor provide a description of their needs in writing. |
Can I stop in to see my child? |
Of course! However, we do ask that you use your best judgment regarding the time of day. For instance, rest time is not the best time of day because we want our kiddos to unwind or nap in a quiet atmosphere. |
